WHAT WE BELIEVE

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

2 Timothy 3:16

Scripture

We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men supernaturally inspired; that it is truth without any admixture of error in its matter; and that therefore it is, and shall remain to the end of the age, the only complete and final revelation of God's will to humanity. It serves as the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; John 5:39)

The Trinity

We believe that there is only one true and living God. (Exodus 20:2-3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner, born of a virgin, his mother Mary, as no other man was or can ever be born. (Genesis 3:15; Galatians 4:4; Luke 1:35)

We wholeheartedly receive Him and openly confess Him as our only and all-sufficient Savior. (Luke 12:8; Romans 10:9-11)

Salvation

We believe that the salvation of sinners is entirely by grace and cannot be earned through any human works.

(Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5-7)

We believe that repentance and faith are solemn obligations and inseparable graces wrought in our souls by the Spirit of God.

(Acts 2:37-38; Acts 20:20-21; John 6:63)

The Church

We believe that a church of Christ is a local congregation or assembly of baptized believers, associated by a covenant of faith and the fellowship of the gospel. It is charged with observing the ordinances of Christ, being governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word.

(Acts 2:41-42, 46-47; Ephesians 4:11)

We believe that scriptural baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a prerequisite for church membership and participation in the Lord's Supper. The Lord's Supper is a sacred church ordinance in which members commemorate the sacrificial, undying love of Christ.

(Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Our Vision

The members of Emmanuel Baptist Church believe that God has placed us in the Cypress area to be a witness to the grace of God. We are convinced that the Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation, so we preach Christ crucified and trust God to bring people to Jesus.

"Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" ~ Romans 10:17

Our church believes that  spiritual growth is a journey that each Christian must complete, so we seek to disciple people in their walk with God. There is Sunday School for all ages so everyone can grow in the knowledge of God's will.  We have home Bible studies and regular youth activities.

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen" ~ 2 Peter 3:18

Above all else, our church seeks to cultivate a heart for God. Sunday by Sunday we sing, learn, and serve the King of Kings. We seek the glory of God in everything we do.

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" ~ 1 Corinthians 10:31
