What We Believe

Scripture

  • We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men supernaturally inspired, that it has truth without any admixture of error for its matter; and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the age, the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to man; the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be tried. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:19-21; John 5:39)

The Trinity

  • We believe that there is only one true and living God.   ( Ex. 20:2,3; 1 Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:6)

Jesus Christ

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit in a miraculous manner. He was born of the Virgin Mary, as no other man was ever or can ever be born of a woman. (Gen. 3:15; Gal. 4:4; Luke 1:35) We whole heartedly receive Him and openly confess Him as our only and all sufficient savior. (Luke 12:8; Rom. 10:9-11)

Salvation

  • We believe that the salvation of sinners is completely of grace, and cannot be earned thru any works of man. ( Eph. 2:8-10; Tit. 3:5-7)
  • We believe that repentance and faith are solemn obligations, inseparable graces, which are wrought in our souls by the Spirit of God. (Acts 2:37-38; 20:20-21; John 6:63)

The Church

  • We believe that a church of Christ is a congregation, or assembly, of baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel. ( Acts 2:41-42; 46-47) Observing the ordinances of Christ, being governed by His laws, and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word. (Eph. 4:11)
  • We believe that baptism is the immersion in water (of a believer), in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(Matt. 28:19) Baptism is a prerequisite to the privilege of a church relation, and to the Lords Supper. The Lord's Supper is a church ordinance in which members of the church commemorate the undying love of Christ as He died. (1Cor. 11: 23-26)

Our Vision

The members of Emmanuel Baptist Church believe that God has placed us in the Cypress area to be a witness to the grace of God. We are convinced that the Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation, so we preach Christ crucified and trust God to bring people to Jesus.

"Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" ~ Romans 10:17

Our church believes that  spiritual growth is a journey that each Christian must complete, so we seek to disciple people in their walk with God. There is Sunday School for all ages so everyone can grow in the knowledge of God's will.  We have home Bible studies and regular youth activities.

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen" ~ 2 Peter 3:18

Above all else, our church seeks to cultivate a heart for God. Sunday by Sunday we sing, learn, and serve the King of Kings. We seek the glory of God in everything we do.

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" ~ 1 Corinthians 10:31
