About EMMANUEL

We are an Independent Baptist Church seeking to Discover the riches of God's Grace. We are committed to the faithful exposition of scripture, the growth and care of the local church and reaching the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.  You are invited to  visit this Sunday and be refreshed by gospel centered ministry that matters. Dress is casual and worship style is traditional. Child care is available for families with little ones and spanish translation through headphones is also offered.

Our Vision

The members of Emmanuel Baptist Church believe that God has placed us in the Cypress area to be a witness to the grace of God. We are convinced that the Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation, so we preach Christ crucified and trust God to bring people to Jesus.

"Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God" ~ Romans 10:17

Our church believes that  spiritual growth is a journey that each Christian must complete, so we seek to disciple people in their walk with God. There is Sunday School for all ages so everyone can grow in the knowledge of God's will.  We have home Bible studies and regular youth activities.

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen" ~ 2 Peter 3:18

Above all else, our church seeks to cultivate a heart for God. Sunday by Sunday we sing, learn and serve the King of Kings. We seek the glory of God in everything we do.

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" ~ 1 Corinthians 10:31

About Our Pastor

Pastor Lee Gonzales was saved in 1997 and called to preach in 2000. He married Emily in 2005 and they have been blessed with four children. Brother Lee came to Waugh Drive in 2007 and has led our church through a time of revitalization which included relocating to our present location in Cypress.

He is committed to teaching the Bible verse by verse and bringing scriptures to bear on our present world. Lee holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. When he is not preaching his hobbies include tinkering in the woodshop, playing chess and reading.
